Solar Panel Re-Roof Service
This is a job that really need to be done well. When a new roof is installed the existing solar panels need to be disconnected, and then reinstalled at the appropriate time during the re-roof process. This is often a multi-step procedure, beginning before the old roof is removed and ending after all roof work is finished, usually with one or more steps in between. Often it involves supplying new anchor bolts, pipes, fittings, valves, wires, and insulation. It's important to be meticulous in this work because it affects the success of your new roof. It's usually hot, dirty work, and most people are tempted to cut corners just to be done with it. But taking shortcuts here can lead to roof leaks in the future.
SOLAR WATER HEATER REPLACEMENT
When a solar water heater tank has a leak which can't be repaired, it is time to replace it. This is an opportunity to bring the system up to the latest codes. Usually it's wise to replace the original valves and fittings at this time. Often we find that we can easily upgrade the system to perform better than it has in years.
HOT WATER, EVEN AFTER HURRICANES
Most solar water heaters require a small amount of electricity for a pump which moves the hot water from the solar collector panel on the roof to the tank where it is stored. If the pump gets it's power from a control unit which plugs into the wall, you'll get no hot water if the electricity goes off. We can replace the pump and control unit with a pump which is powered by solar electricity. Then, as long as you have water pressure and sunlight you can make hot water, even though the electricity is out.
